These Terms of Service govern your use of Baby Food Scanner. By accessing or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
1. About Baby Food Scanner
Baby Food Scanner is an informational and planning app designed to help parents and caregivers review foods, ingredients, labels, allergies, feeding information, saved foods, and meal ideas.
Features may include food scanning, age-aware guidance, allergy-aware checks, saved food history, meal planning, pantry tools, shopping lists, and related feeding organization features.
2. Eligibility and Account Use
You must be legally capable of entering into these Terms and responsible for the information you provide through the app.
The app is intended for parents, guardians, caregivers, or other adults managing feeding information for babies or young children. It is not intended for children to create or manage accounts independently.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for activity performed through your account.
3. Sign-In and Account Providers
The app may support Sign in with Apple and Google Sign-In. Your use of those services is also subject to the terms and policies of Apple, Google, and any applicable authentication provider.
4. Baby Profile Information
You may provide information such as a baby's name, date of birth, feeding stage, allergies, dietary preferences, optional photo, and other feeding-related details.
You are responsible for ensuring the information you provide is accurate and appropriate for the person whose profile you are managing.
5. Food Scanning and AI-Assisted Features
Baby Food Scanner may use artificial intelligence to extract information from food photos, labels, ingredients, nutrition panels, barcodes, and similar content.
AI-generated or AI-extracted information may be incomplete, inaccurate, or uncertain. The app may combine AI output with deterministic safety and feeding rules, but no automated system can identify every possible risk or circumstance.
You should independently check food labels, preparation instructions, manufacturer information, and professional guidance where appropriate.
6. Not Medical Advice
Baby Food Scanner does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, emergency care, or professional medical advice.
Information in the app is provided for general informational and organizational purposes only.
Feeding readiness, allergies, choking risk, nutritional requirements, medical conditions, medication interactions, developmental readiness, and reactions can vary between children.
Always consult a qualified pediatrician, allergist, dietitian, or other healthcare professional when you have questions or concerns about a child's health, allergies, nutrition, development, or feeding.
If you believe a child is experiencing a serious allergic reaction or other medical emergency, seek emergency medical help immediately.
7. Choking and Preparation Guidance
The app may provide preparation or serving guidance intended to reduce common feeding risks. Such guidance cannot account for every child's developmental ability, chewing skills, medical condition, or feeding environment.
Adult supervision and appropriate professional guidance remain essential.
8. Allergy Information
Allergy-related features are designed to help organize information you provide and identify possible conflicts in scanned foods or meal suggestions.
The app cannot guarantee that every allergen is identified or that food is free from cross-contact, undeclared ingredients, manufacturing changes, or labeling errors.
Always review the actual package label and follow medical advice relating to known or suspected allergies.
9. Meal Plans and Food Suggestions
Meal plans and food suggestions are provided as planning ideas and may not be appropriate for every child.
Meal suggestions may depend on information such as age, feeding stage, allergies, dietary preferences, saved foods, or pantry information.
You are responsible for reviewing meal suggestions before serving them and for adapting preparation, portion, texture, and ingredients as appropriate.
10. Free and Pro Features
Baby Food Scanner may offer both free and paid features. Free usage may be subject to limits such as a limited number of food scans or meal plans.
Pro features may include higher or unlimited usage limits and additional premium functionality.
Available features, limits, and prices may change over time.
11. Subscriptions
Paid subscriptions are processed through the Apple App Store where applicable.
Subscription prices, billing periods, free trials, introductory offers, and renewal terms are shown before purchase in the App Store or purchase interface.
Subscriptions may automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current subscription period, subject to Apple's applicable terms.
Your Apple ID account may be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple account's subscription settings.
12. Restore Purchases
Where supported, you may restore eligible purchases using the Restore Purchases feature in the app.
Purchase recognition may depend on Apple, RevenueCat, network availability, and the Apple account used for the original purchase.
13. Deleting Your Account
You may request account deletion from within the app.
Account deletion may permanently remove:
- Your Baby Food Scanner account
- Baby profiles
- Food scans
- Saved foods
- Allergy and dietary preference information
- Meal plans
- Other app data linked to your account
Account deletion cannot generally be undone.
Deleting your Baby Food Scanner account does not automatically cancel an active App Store subscription. You must manage subscription cancellation through Apple.
14. Deleting a Baby Profile
The app may allow you to delete an individual baby profile. Deleting a profile may permanently remove scans, saved foods, allergies, meal plans, and other data associated with that baby.
15. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the app for unlawful, fraudulent, or abusive activity.
- Attempt to bypass usage limits, authentication, security, or subscription controls.
- Reverse engineer or interfere with the app except where permitted by law.
- Upload content that you do not have the right to use.
- Use the app in a way that disrupts or damages our services or infrastructure.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to another user's account or data.
16. Intellectual Property
The Baby Food Scanner app, branding, software, design, content, and related intellectual property are owned by or licensed to the app developer, except for third-party content, trademarks, and services.
These Terms do not grant you ownership of the app or its intellectual property.
17. Third-Party Services
The app relies on third-party providers that may include Firebase, Supabase, RevenueCat, Apple, Google, and other service providers.
Availability or performance of certain features may depend on those providers. We are not responsible for outages, changes, or failures caused by services outside our reasonable control.
18. Service Availability
We may change, suspend, add, remove, or discontinue features at any time.
We do not guarantee that the app or every feature will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
19. No Guarantee of Accuracy
While we aim to provide useful and carefully designed guidance, we do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or suitability of every scan result, food classification, meal suggestion, or generated response.
Product formulations, labels, ingredients, nutritional values, and recommendations can change over time.
20. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Baby Food Scanner is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
We disclaim implied warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and accuracy to the extent permitted by law.
21. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the app developer and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the app.
This includes, where legally permitted, losses related to reliance on scan results, meal suggestions, feeding guidance, service interruptions, data loss, or third-party services.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
22. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to be responsible for losses or claims resulting from your unlawful misuse of the app or violation of these Terms.
23. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary to address fraud, abuse, security risks, violations of these Terms, or legal requirements.
You may stop using the app at any time and may delete your account through available in-app account controls.
24. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes may be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date on this page.
Continued use of the app after updated Terms become effective may constitute acceptance where permitted by applicable law.
25. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by applicable laws and mandatory consumer protection rules. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be waived under the law applicable to you.
26. Apple App Store Terms
If you download or use Baby Food Scanner through Apple's App Store, you acknowledge that these Terms are between you and the app developer, not Apple.
Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, maintenance, support, or services except as required under Apple's applicable terms.
Your use of the app must also comply with applicable App Store terms and rules.
