Baby Food Scanner is designed to help parents and caregivers check foods, organize feeding information, save food history, and create age-aware meal ideas. This Privacy Policy explains what information may be collected, how it is used, and the choices available to you.

1. Information We Collect

Depending on how you use the app, we may process the following information:

• Account information, such as your email address and sign-in provider.
• Baby profile information, including name, date of birth, age, feeding stage, allergies, dietary preferences, and optional profile photo.
• Food scan information, including food names, ingredient labels, nutrition labels, barcodes, and images you choose to scan.
• Saved foods, food journey status, meal plans, pantry items, shopping lists, and related feeding history.
• Subscription status and entitlement information.
• Technical and usage information needed to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the app.

2. How We Use Information

We use information to:

• Provide personalized food checks based on age, allergies, and feeding information.
• Generate and display meal planning suggestions.
• Save your baby profiles, scans, saved foods, and preferences.
• Identify allergy or feeding conflicts using app safety rules.
• Authenticate your account and keep your data associated with your sign-in.
• Manage subscription access and restore purchases.
• Maintain security, prevent abuse, diagnose errors, and improve reliability.

3. AI-Assisted Food Analysis

Baby Food Scanner may use artificial intelligence to extract observable information from food images, labels, ingredients, nutrition information, and similar content. AI is used as an assistance tool and does not make the final safety decision by itself.

The app also applies deterministic food and age rules to help determine whether a food may be suitable, should be modified, should be avoided, or needs further review.

4. Food Scan Images

When you choose to scan a food or label, the image may be processed to identify food, ingredient, or nutrition information. Some scan images may also be stored securely so they can be shown in your scan history.

You should avoid including unrelated personal information in images you upload.

5. Authentication

The app may use Sign in with Apple and Google Sign-In. These services may provide basic account information needed to authenticate you, such as your account identifier and email address, depending on the permissions and information you choose to share.

6. Service Providers

We use third-party infrastructure and services to operate the app. These may include:

• Firebase for authentication and related account services.
• Supabase for database, storage, and backend app services.
• RevenueCat for subscription entitlement and purchase management.
• Apple for App Store purchases and Sign in with Apple.
• Google for Google Sign-In and selected AI-related processing services.

These providers process information according to their own privacy practices and only as necessary to provide their services.

7. Subscriptions and Purchases

Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not directly receive your full payment card details.

RevenueCat may process purchase status, product identifiers, entitlement status, renewal information, and similar subscription metadata so the app can determine whether you have Pro access.

8. Baby and Child-Related Information

Baby profile information is entered by the parent, guardian, or caregiver using the app. The app is intended for adults managing feeding information for babies or young children.

We do not intend for children to create accounts or use the app independently.

9. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the app, maintain your account, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the service.

When you delete a baby profile, associated baby-specific app data may be deleted as part of that process.

When you delete your account, Baby Food Scanner is designed to remove your app account data and associated baby data from our systems, subject to limited records that may need to be retained where required by law, security, fraud prevention, or platform obligations.

10. Account Deletion

You can request account deletion from within the app through the Profile section.

Account deletion is permanent and may remove:

• Baby profiles
• Food scans
• Saved foods
• Allergy and feeding preferences
• Meal plans
• Other app data linked to your account

Deleting your Baby Food Scanner account does not automatically cancel an active App Store subscription. Subscription cancellation must be managed through Apple.

11. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration.

However, no online service or storage system can guarantee absolute security.

12. Your Choices

You may be able to:

• Edit baby profile details.
• Update allergies and dietary preferences.
• Remove saved foods or baby profiles.
• Delete your account.
• Restore eligible purchases.
• Manage or cancel subscriptions through Apple.

13. Medical and Feeding Disclaimer

Baby Food Scanner is an informational and planning tool. It does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, emergency guidance, or professional medical advice.

Feeding readiness, allergies, choking risk, nutritional needs, medical conditions, and reactions can vary between children. Always follow guidance from your pediatrician, allergist, dietitian, or other qualified healthcare professional where appropriate.

If a child may be experiencing a serious allergic reaction or medical emergency, seek emergency medical care immediately.

14. International Users

Our service providers may process or store information in countries different from the country where you live. By using the app, information may therefore be transferred across borders where permitted by applicable law.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we may update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
